Bea providing scalp pigmentation and hair tattooing in Maine

Beatrice Pillet O’Connell is a professional paramedical aesthetician specializing in cosmetic and medical tattooing.

Over my 10 years as a professional medical tattoo artist, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, not just by providing scar camouflage or mastectomy tattoos, but also by providing a safe, non-judgmental space for them to heal emotionally.

My work as a medical tattoo artist is a critical step in the healing journey of trauma, accidents, illness, or injuries, offering you a means of emotional recovery and mental well-being. Our work together will become an intimate part of your mental, physical, and emotional healing process, an aspect of my work that I take seriously. I am a mother who knows the pain and depth of loss, and the path toward healing.

My clients receive the benefit of my artistic vision, French aesthetic chic touch, and compassion.

I have a special place in my heart for women going through breast cancer and for the transgender community.

My background

Paris-in-Maine at CosMed.ink medical and cosmetic tattooing

Two things stand about me: I am French and I am very passionate about my work.

I had the privilege to a multi-cultural European upbringing with a Celtic/French father, a Czech mother, and an Austrian grandmother. I even married an Irish and Lithuanian descent American.

I went to a French Lycée in Canada and traveled every chance I had. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts specialized in Communication Studies and Journalism, then completed a program at Pro Media Radio/Television School.

I found my way back to France after university with a job in public relations and organization development at the headquarters of “Compagnie Générale d’Electricité” in Paris. While there I did an internship at the French cosmetic company “Sothys”.

After a few years I moved to Canada where I became news anchor for CHAA Radio and later a reporter for Radio Canada Television /CBC & News. I also did freelance work for francophone magazines.

My curiosity led me to be certified in coaching with the “Etiquette International - The Coaching in International Protocol - Cross-Cultural interactions Program NYC” in New York and Washington.

I conducted seminars on international protocol, cross cultural interactions and business, and international etiquette, and some fun interactive lectures on dining rituals around the world.

I wrote diplomatic discourse for the French Foreign Affair Ministry, Consul of France in Virginia.

For fun I co-organized the first “Dîner en Blanc” in New York. I sat on the board of the MacDella Cooper Foundation in New York for orphans in Liberia. I volunteered to raise money for the Museum of Fine Arts of Montreal and the Geriatric Institut of Montréal.

What I really wanted to do, though, was film makeup. I was given an artistic nature and an easy boldness in seeing shape and colors to achieve creative concepts. During my free time I took a calligraphy class. To have a more “practical skill” I sought training in permanent makeup.

Medical tattooing soon became my calling. I perfected my skills through many certifications in North America and haven’t looked back. Being a medical tattoo artist joins my artistic side and love of what cosmetic enhancements can do for a person’s confidence, with my desire to help others regain a sense of wholeness. I love what I do and the deep, lasting impact it has on my clients’ lives.

In the future I hope to do volunteer work in India and the African subcontinent with women whose faces and bodies have been deformed due to acid attacks. In the meantime, I am creating a little Paris-in-Maine and providing outstanding paramedical tattoos and permanent makeup to people through the northeastern United States.

Mouche beauty marks

French mouche: beauty marks or patches

“I would like to think I improve the aesthetics of a wide range of issues. The perceived deformity suddenly can become a celebration of courage. The creation of a 3D nipple-areola complex post-mastectomy, the restoration of hair loss, the creation of a lash line, the improvement of the appearance of a scar, the correction of a hypo pigmented lesion, the rebalancing of a lip symmetry… all can reveal an inner beauty now visible to the world.”

Happy client describes her experience working with Bea for scar camouflage.
