Cosmetic Tattooing: About permanent makeup

If you are looking for a subtle and long lasting “made-up” look, permanent makeup is the ideal solution for you. While there are very few risks associate with aesthetic micropigmentation, the process is made even safer by the ease of use of colorimetry, the fine grade medical needles I use, and the safety and hygiene rules that are essential to my work.

Once you are totally comfortable with the shape and design, I will numb the area with a topical anesthetic for a comfortable experience. The use of sterile pigments will then be gradually dispensed in the derma using a dermograph. Please note that color retention is different with each client. Exposure to sun, intense workouts or fast metabolism can cause permanent makeup to fade sooner.

Your initial treatment will require a follow up in 6 to 8 weeks to allow the healing process to be complete with a restorative post-tattoo cream.

Permanent makeup cannot be performed during pregnancy or breast-feeding, or on anyone suffering from viral, fungal and bacterial infections.

Cancer and chemotherapy patients should wait six months after their last chemo treatment to be pigmented.

A list of pre-procedures including other counter indications will be emailed to you previous to your initial appointment.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION

Every skin reacts differently and the restoration and healing process will take about a month.

At first the pigmented area will look quite pronounced. A protective crust of lymph and blood will most likely form. During the healing process you will experience some itching and peeling as the pigmented area heals.

It is important not to remove or scratch the scabs!

Once the outer healing process completes, part of the initial color will resurface. This happens before your follow-up appointment.

Aftercare instructions will be given to you after your first appointment.

Medical Tattooing Services

Medical Tattooing: About paramedical micropigmentation

If you struggle with a visible difference, exploring medical tattooing, also known as para-medical micropigmentation or restorative tattooing, could be a step to change your life for the better.

Whether your difference is medical, surgical, or traumatic in nature, this technique can be used to correct a tissue alteration such as scarring, lip damaged by cleft lip palate, burns, mammary reconstruction, stabilized vitiligo, skin grafts, or lack of hair on brows, lash-line, and scalp.

Chemotherapy patients can also benefit from para-medical micropigmentation. The process of implanting medical grade certified pigment in an area of the skin is used to achieve a realistic, natural solution to correct skin achromia or conceal a scar.

One of the most important factors of restorative tattooing is the use of small molecules pigments instead of large molecules in inks. The nontoxic medical pigments are translucent and will match the natural tones and hues of normal skin.

This realistic and natural solution can seriously help perceptional body image.

A consultation is mandatory to discuss the history of the affected area as well as your pre-procedure. Please be prepared to provide the list of your prescription medications for the consent paperwork.

Scalp micropigmentation services in Maine

Scalp Micropigmentation Services

Regain your crown glory!

Known as medical hairline, this procedure can change your life and bring you back 10 years.

Receding hairlines, diffuse hair, crown balding, or alopecia no longer require implantation.

This utmost effective way to restore uniformity in the hair is also a great option for women experiencing more diffuse hair or other irregularities on the scalp.

The “dot” technique will mimic a hair follicle to the casual observer.

Cancer patients who suffer from chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) know that the condition can linger for months, sometimes years. Some baldness can occur in people who receive certain drugs as well.

If your hair loss issues are a result of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or bone marrow transplant, you are an excellent candidate for scalp micropigmentation.

Dry Needling & Scar Revision Services

MCA, or Multi-Trepannic Collagen Actuation, is also known as dry needling, micro needling, and collagen induction. It is safe and minimally discomforting.

This treatment can be used on all stretch marks: red, purple, white and deep ones. Some serums will improve the turnover and rejuvenation of Fibroblast cells.

We use the revolutionary Nue Medical Grade Serum specially designed to address stretchmarks, acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

Some medical-grade monofilament needles are used for causing controlled trauma to scars. Ironically the procedure is used to break down scar tissue, initiating repair as a result of the healing process.

By regenerating and repairing itself, collagen and elastin rebuild and realign uneven skin boundaries while stimulating the melanogenesis.

The treatment can be used to reduce acne scaring, surgical scaring, burns, and trauma scaring.

A full detailed consultation is provided prior to any treatment to establish the clients specific needs.

Saline Removal Services

If you have a bad or unwanted microblading, permanent makeup, or a small tattoo, saline removal is a safe and powerful treatment available at CosMed.ink.

The lightening solution is made of natural ingredients of fruit extract, ground up sea salt, aloe and purified water. The non-chemical and non-acid formula can be tattooed over the undesirable area immediately as an emergency removal or years later.

Once it is deposited into the skin, the pigment will lift by osmosis and form little scabs. Once the scabs peel off the ink will peel off as well.

During the healing process the pigments will be lifted through the surface of the skin as opposed to a laser treatment where the body has to absorb the inks. It is effective on all colors of ink. Laser is ineffective on white pigments and certain machines can only break up certain colors of ink.

It is an effective method safe around the eye area.
